How do I know how to care for each individual base cloth fabric i.e. Arizona, Palermo and Peau De Peche?
Please visit the Fabric Base Cloth Info & Care page.
How sustainable is the printing process?
We take sustainability very seriously. The process of digital printing has very little emission and what fume is emitted, whilst non-toxic, is still captured in our Carbon Activated Filtration system to ensure the only thing that leaves our facility is clean air.
Everything is printed on demand to eliminate waste and the ‘transfer paper’ involved in what is known as ‘Dye Sublimation Heat Transfer’ is recycled.
This transfer paper, once spent, is pulped and returned to useful service. The cardboard tubes the paper is supplied on are recovered wherever practicable. Remnants, discontinued patterns and obsolete samples are donated to a number of Australian charities, both local and national.
How do I care for my Florence Broadhurst fabrics when used for upholstery?
All of our fabrics are washable. If being used for upholstery, the following care details apply:
1. Protect from sunlight & vacuum regularly.
2. Blot off liquid soiling.
3. Remove bulky matter with a flat blade.
4. Brush off/vacuum loose particles.
5. Prepare a neutral pH detergent solution (10:450ml) or use pre-prepared Crypton Care Gold and/or Purple.
6. Gently rub the solution onto the soiled area with a soft brush.
7. Rinse detergent off with clean water and a soft white cloth & allow to air dry.
8. For stubborn stains a mild solution of Isopropyl Alcohol may be used, then repeat steps 1-7.
9. Do not use solvent based cleansers and ensure all detergent residue is completely rinsed off.
Where are the fabrics produced?
All Florence Broadhurst Fabrics from this website are printed in Sydney, Australia.
What are the fabric widths?
The width of the fabric depends on the base cloth it is printed on:
Arizona is approx. 137 cm / 54 inches.
Peau De Peche is approx. 141 cm / 55 inches.
Palermo is approx. 139 cm / 55 inches.
Are there any natural fabric options?
The on-demand capability to print digitally onto vegetable fibres is in our opinion not satisfactory (it’s not colourfast and doesn’t achieve the performance outcome that our company has a a benchmark) Stability, cleanability, durability… We believe is an imperative. The tactile qualities of polyester is amazing these days and we encourage you to order samples to see just how fabulous they are.
What are the differences between the types of base cloths?
