Vintage pinks

If you think you’re not keen on pink for a girls’ bedroom, think again!

In Three Birds Renovations House 11, Bonnie and the team chose beautifully subtle shades for the Florence Broadhurst cushions in Jade’s bedroom.

“It’s a very very pink room,” says Bonnie. “But it was the nature of the patterns from Florence Broadhurst that had that vintage kind of vibe, and it’s softer.”

And here’s some more detail about the fabrics used for the cushion covers they designed.

Vintage Pinks

From top left we have Japanese Floral ‘Macaron’ shown on three difference base cloths: Peau De Peche (a soft, brushed cotton-like fabric with a bright white background) Arizona (this has more of a cotton-linen feel to it) and Palermo (a luxe velvet with a creamy base tone) This fabric is available by the metre as well as a Euro-sized cushion cover in the velvet.

Next we have Halftone Clouds ‘Rose’ on Palermo which is available by the metre (on a choice of three base cloths); as a rectangle cushion cover and also a very special round cushion cover with a raffia trim.

And finally, Lattice Leaf ‘Cooper’ on Palermo, available by the metre or as a rectangle cushion cover.

Pinks For Walls

If cushions aren’t your thing (say what?!) well, you could always consider the new framed canvas art which comes in 7 different designs and many varying shades of subtle pink, as well as a choice of 3 different floating shadow frames. Here’s Kabuki ‘Fuzzy Peach’ with an Australian Oak floating frame.

Vintage pinks all the way, we say! And Florence? She said… “I tell my clients they must surround themselves with the colours that inspire or uplift them” – The Australian, October 16, 1968. And what little girl (or grown one) wouldn’t want to be surrounded with these.
